Chatterson, Dorothy I. (7 AUG 1934)
Miss Dorothy Ione Chatterson, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Chatterson, became the bride of Everald George Kellogg, son of Mrs. William Kellogg of Ashland, at a lovely candle light wedding service at the Methodist Episcopal church at eight o’clock p.m., Tuesday, August 7. Rev. J. H. Chatterson, father of the bride, performed the ceremony, assisted by Rev. G. R. Carver, district superintendent, of Rice Lake. The bride was dressed in a white taffeta princess style gown, trimmed in rhinestones, and wore a tiara of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of tea roses and baby breath. She was attended by Miss Ruth Kellogg, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, who wore turquoise blue chiffon and carried a bouquet of roses and baby breath and sweet peas. Miss Doris Grand of Ashland, as bridesmaid, wore tea rose crepe and carried a corsage of roses , baby breath and sweet peas. The groom was attended by his brother, Spencer Kellogg, and Dr. Grand of Ashland. Little Bobby Medley was the ring bearer and Carol Jean Skinner, dressed in pink net and carrying a basket of sweet peas, acted as flower girl. Harry Dahl and Winslow Brooks served as ushers.
Before the ceremony, Miss Ruth Davis sang "O Promise Me" and Miss Myra Hanson sang "I Love You Truly". The wedding Marches by Lohengrin and Mendelssohn were rendered by Miss Phyllis Plahn at the organ. The church was artistically decorated with garden flowers and ferns. The only light was from the cross and candles. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors which were prettily decorated with blue and white crepe paper. Covers were laid for about one hundred fifty guests.
No individual invitations were issued, but a general invitation was issued to the public.
Mr. and Mrs. Kellogg will be at home at New Holstein, Wisconsin, near Green Bay, after September 1, where the groom is employed as principal in the high school.
Out of town guests were Mrs. William Kellogg, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Judge and Mrs. Pascoe of Ashland, Rev. and Mrs. A. F. Acker and three nurses from the Lakeside hospital of Rice Lake.
Miss Chatterson was the guest of honor at several social gatherings preceding her marriage. On July 20, a party was given by friends who presented her with several beautiful gifts. Aug. 1 seventy-five members of the church entertained and a purse of money was given. Aug. 2nd a kitchen shower was held by another group and on Aug. 3rd a dinner party and another lovely gift received.
Miss Chatterson has many friends in Loyal who rejoice with her in her happiness and wish for her life’s very best. As a little girl she lived in Loyal four years. She has since graduated from Glenwood City high school and attended Taylor University ay Upland, Ind. Also Northland College at Ashland and graduated as a nurse from Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay, and has been employed at Lakeside hospital in Rice Lake. Mrs. Kellogg is well fitted to help fill any position to which her husband may attain. Cor.
