City councilmen were told Tuesday night that the State Bank of Medford has
offered to deed over to the city the former bank quarters on the corner of Main

The proposition was presented Monday night by firm representatives Fred
Schroeder and Ronald Isaacson to the Medford planning committee.
Ray Scott, president of the bank’s board of directors, appeared before the city
council Tuesday night when the offer was taken under advisement and referred by
Mayor William Van Laarhoven Sr. to a committee of two.
