He was married to Miss Barbara Brecker of Beaver in 1900. Three sons were born to them, Alfred, Leo, and Arnold, who with their mother, mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father.

Besides the wife and children, he leaves his father, August Mandel of Two Rivers; and six brothers, August of Dodge, Neb.; Ernst, Colby; Fred and Albert of Dodge, Neb.; and Julius and Edwin of Two Rivers; four sisters, Mrs. Albert Bernardt; Mrs. Adam Lauber; Mrs. Bugler and Miss Ida Mandel of Two Rivers.
