Mrs. Caroline Doud, a resident of Beloit for the past 18 years, died early Thursday afternoon at the home of her son, Harvey Doud, 312 Springfield avenue, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Doud was born Aug. 12, 1855, at Whitewater. On Dec. 7, 1883, she was married to Alonzo C. Doud, who died May 12, 1925. Before her marriage she was Caroline Lilly Potter. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary and of the Salvation Army.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey, Beloit, and Edward, Wonewoc, Wis., one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Varner, Beloit; one step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Sherwood, Bellingham, Wash., one sister, Mrs. Emma Babcock, Beloit; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at p p.m. at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel. Major Severin Justvig of the Salvation Army will officiate and burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Doud was a former resident of this village.
