Marsh, Nora (1865? - 31 Dec. 1937)
Mrs. Nora Marsh, widow of Judge S. M. Marsh, passed away Dec. 31, 1937, in the state of California, according to a message received here by her niece, Mrs. Joe Zimmerman.
Nora Tripp was married to Attorney S. M. Marsh of Neillsville in 1892. One son, Hallan, was born to them. The family lived here until 1914, leaving that year for San Diego, California, where Mr. Marsh practiced law and was later elected to the Superior judgeship. Mr. Marsh died several years ago.
Mrs. Marsh was a student of literature, music and art and gave freely of her time in the up building of her surroundings. She was one of the charter members of the Neillsville Monday Progress club. She and Mrs. J. W. Hommel as vice-president, Mrs. E. W. Crosby, secretary, and Mrs. W. L. Hemphill, treasurer, were instrumental in formulating this organization, which has been one of Neillsville’s finest educational clubs all through the years. Mrs. Marsh was its first president.
It is with deep regret that Neillsville friends learn of the passing of Mrs. Marsh. The remains will be laid to rest in the family lot in California.
