Braaton, Berma Leah (September 14, 1897 - September 27, 1990)

Berma Leah Braaton of Windsor Estates, Kokomo, Ind., died September 27, 1990, in Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo.

She was born September 14, 1897 to Raymond and Carolyn Jane (Hayden) Payne in Neillsville, Clark County.

She married Clayton Pickett in March of 1914 and he died January 9, 1944. She then married George Braaton in 1960 and he died in 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Clayton Pickett of Monticello, Ind., and Cecil Pickett of Kingman, Ariz.; five daughters, Faye Benson of Nipomo, Calif., Viva Chaboski of Monticello, Ind., Lola Roper of Castroville, Calif., Eloise Beane of Keeseville N.Y., and Deloris Martin of Kokomo; 39 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two brothers, and five sisters.

Services for Berma Leah Braaton were September 29 at 1 p.m. from the Ellers Chapel with burial in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, Kokomo, Ind.
