Richard N Butts, age 75, of Marshfield, died Friday, June 9, 2006 in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Richard Butts was born on July 2, 1930 in Belleville, WI, the son of Roy and Julia (Pernot) Butts. He was a graduate of Belleville High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On July 11, 1953 he was united in marriage to the former Gloria.  Richard worked at Pet Milk in Belleville. In 1969, they moved to Mosinee, and in 1975, they moved to Neillsville and farmed.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; seven children, Randall (Cindy) Butts, of Neillsville; Richard A. Butts, of Marshfield; Jeffrey Butts, of Marshfield; Jay (Lori) Butts, of Auburndale; Janie (Robert) Holman, of Marshfield; Cathey (Ronald) Flick of Neillsville; and Terry (Kimberly) Butts, of Granton. Richard is also survived by 24 grandchildren: 11 great-grand-children; and three sisters, Evelyn (Leo) Pillar, of Belleville; Helen Piernot, of DeForest; and Betty (Max) Hillary, of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Archie, Burton, Dale, Frank, Lloyd and Raymond Butts.

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis.
