Hart, Edgar S. (8 Feb. 1982 - 25 May 1938)
Edgar S. Hart was born at Canton, N. Y., Feb. 8, 1852. He was one of a family of six children—four boys and two girls. All of his brothers and the sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Hart taught school two terms in his home town and then came to Neillsville to work at the carpenter trade. Later he obtained a position as draftsman in Chicago for the U. S. government. For a time he was transferred to Washington, D. C., and later returned to Chicago, being employed by the government until 1930, when he retired.
Mr. Hart was a man of keen intellect, a student of the finer things of life. He loved music and was a great reader. He was never married.
Deceased had been ill for many months and since last fall was cared for at the Granton clinic, where Dr. and Mrs. Rath gave him every kindly attention. He is survived by a nephew, Bert Hart, of Courtland, Wash., who visited his uncle here last fall, and several grand-nephews.
Mr. Hart arranged every detail of his funeral and burial some time ago and the rites were carried out according to his wishes. He passed away May 25th, 1938, at the Granton clinic. Funeral services were held at the Lowe Funeral home May 27th. The body was cremated and the ashes will be deposited in the family lot at Canton.
