Tot suffocates in grain bin
Funeral services will be held at 2 .p.m., Friday, in Loyal for Jeannette Marie Meyer, three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Miller of Rt. 1, Unity, who suffocated Monday when she was covered with grain in a grain bin on the farm, 11 miles northeast of Loyal.
As nearly as Coroner Robert Lulloff could determine, Jeannette had been playing in the grain bin when the hired man opened a grain chute while feeding cattle. Jeannette was carried partway down the chute and stuck there. She was removed and was taken to the Colby clinic, but was pronounced dead on arrival there.
The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m.
Jeannette Marie was born August 2, 1966, in Neillsville, Wis. Her parents farmed near Loyal until 1967, when they moved onto the farm on Rt. 1, Unity.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by: two brothers, Donald and Jeff, and a sister, Nancy, all at home; and by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Meyer and Frank Briski.
The services will be held from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Norbert E. King in charge. Burial will be made in the Catholic Cemetery there.
