Henderson, Joseph H. (July 13, 1922 - May 11, 2006)
Joseph H. Henderson, age 83, longtime Stanley area resident, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, WI.
Services were held Monday, May 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stanley Church of the Brethren with James Reppert officiating. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery, Stanley, WI.
Visitation was held on Sunday evening, May 14, from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley and one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Joe was born July 13, 1922 in the Town of Worden, Clark County, the son of Willard and Jennie (Holderman) Henderson. He grew up in the South Worden area where he attended area schools. On January 9, 1944 he was united in marriage to Lurene Reppert at South Worden Church of the Brethren. They lived and farmed in the Town of Worden with Joe also working at the Farmers Store, Cranes Feed Store and later at the Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Chippewa Falls, WI until his retirement. He loved spending time with his horses, being outdoors cutting wood until the age of 75, camping, and he was especially fond of his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by one daughter: Deb (Chuck) Winger of Stanley, WI; two sons: Barry (Kate) Henderson of Ladysmith, WI; and Bill (Deb) Henderson of Kendall, WI; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister Rachel Manier of Stanley, WI
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lurene, three sons in infancy Johnny, Ronny, and Bobby, one brother: Keith Henderson and three sisters: Mae Craker, Eunice Johnson, and Opal Henderson.
