Czubakowski, Richard S. (November 16, 1938 - June 29, 2006)
Richard S. Czubakowski age 67, of Thorp, died on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King, WI.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006 at Thorp Funeral Home, in Thorp, WI, with Fr. Marion Talaga officiating. Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Cemetery, in Lublin. Military Rites will be conducted by the Thorp American Legion Post #118. Visitation was held at the funeral home, on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Richard Steven Czubakowski was born on November 16, 1938 in Chicago, IL, the son of Steven and Anna (Majkowicz) Czubakowski. He was raised in rural Thorp and received his education at Blueberry School and Thorp High School. After completing his education, Richard entered the U. S. Army, where he served as a military policeman. He then returned to Wisconsin and was employed with General Motors for 31 years. Richard worked at the Janesville, WI plant and also the Fort Wayne, IN plant. After retiring in 1997, he moved to Thorp and resided there until entering the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in November of 2005.
He was a member of the Thorp American Legion and enjoyed fishing, collecting antique tractors and farming.
He is survived by four brothers: Ron (Theresa) of Eau Claire, WI, Larry (Kathy) of Sussex, WI, Gene (Brenda) of Thorp, WI, and Jerry (Lori) of Stanley, WI; two sisters: Diane (Jeff) Fryza of Lublin, WI, and Darlene (Keith) Accola of Mondovi, WI; seven nephews: Jason Czubakowski, Jeriame Czubakowski, Thomas Czubakowski, Ryan Fryza, Joshua Fryza, Nicholas Czubakowski, Todd Czubakowski, and Zachary Czubakowski; nine nieces: Tammy Deede, Jennifer Andrews, Jennifer Czubakowski, Tracy Czubakowski, Melinda Czubakowski, Jessica Czubakowski, Megan Fryza, Miranda Czubakowski, and Brianna Fryza; two great nephews: Seth Deede and Dante Andrews; and one great niece, Ashley Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
