Wink, Albert Sr. (18 Feb 1883 – 8 Apr 1974)
Albert Wink Sr., 91, died at Victory Memorial Nursing Home, Stanley, on Monday,
April 8, 1974 of old age complications.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s – St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church,
Thorp, on Thursday, April 11, 1974, 12:00 noon. Rev. John Puerner officiated,
with interment being made in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery, Thorp. Pallbearers
were: George Welciek, Andy Pawlak, John Orzechowski Jr., James Chmelin, Harry
Hodorowski Jr. and Don Hodorowski.
Mr. Wink, a retired farmer, was born February 18, 1883 at Kiel, Wisconsin,
Calumet County. He came to Thorp with his parents in 1888 to a farm 2 1/2 miles
south of Thorp in the township of Reseburg. He purchased the family farm in
1920. On June 10, 1913 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Barbara Keller at
St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp.
Surviving are two sons, Albert Wink Jr. and Lawrence Wink, both of Thorp; eight
daughters, (Mary) Mrs. Stanley Welciek, Mrs. Bertha Pawlak, (Cecelia) Mrs. John
Orzechowski, (Josephine) Mrs. Harry Hodorowski, (Amelia) Mrs. Frank Hodorowski,
all of Thorp, (Margaret) Mrs. Walter Chemerys of Milwaukee, (Edith) Mrs. Albert
Chemlik, and (Elizabeth), Mrs. Charles Spaeth, both of Chippewa Falls; 38
grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth on October 18, 1937, one son,
Anthony, two grandchildren, Joyce Pawlak and Tom Chmelik, his parents,
Christopher and Amelia Wink, one brother, Joseph, and five sisters, Elizabeth
Peters, Anna Mullenbach, Justena Jacque, Bertha and Rosie Wink.
