Selves, Gladys (Marriage - 1938)
Miss Gladys Selves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Selves of the Ridge and Norman Douyette of Minocqua were united in marriage earlier in the summer at the M. E. Parsonage in Minocqua, Rev. Martin Thomas officiating. They were attended by Miss Laura Cator, sister of the groom, and Walter Johnson of Minocqua.
The bride wore a white silk crepe and lace, with a bridal wreath and bouquet of pink tea roses and white snapdragons. The bridesmaid wore pink and carried pink and white flowers.
Mrs. Douyette was graduated from the training department of Neillsville High School and for many years taught in the rural schools of that county, and in recent years at Minocqua. She is a young woman of intelligence and refinement and has a host of friends here who with the couple a lifetime of happiness and success.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Richardson of Woodruff.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Selves, Misses Ruby and Ruth Selves and Mrs. Earl Zille were attendants at the wedding from here.
