Johnson, Magnus (1 April 1857 - 25 July 1938)
Magnus Johnson was born April 1, 1857, near the city of Lillehammer, Norway, to John and Pernille (Thorndsen) Johnson, and passed away at the Marshfield hospital July 25, 1938. The remains were laid to rest beside his brother, Gilbert Johnson, in the Neillsville Cemetery, who passed away October 8, 1933.
He left Norway when he was 22 years of age and for many years made his home in Neillsville, Wis. He worked for the O & N Lumber Co. for 22 years and later purchased land near Sheldon, Wis.
Mr. Johnson was never married. He lived a very quiet life yet met his friends graciously and was possessed of a kindly and generous nature.
He is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Elise Troseth, Miss Rena Johnson, Mrs. Julia Hurlburt and Mrs. Petra Hetle, all of Minneapolis.
