Janca, Frank John (October 22, 1920 - July 25, 2006)

Frank J. Janca, age 85, of Lublin, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at his home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin with Rev. John Long officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery with members of Lublin American Legion Abramowicz, Kacmarczyk, & Cwikla Post #547 serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held on Friday, July 28, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Frank John Janca was born on October 22, 1920 in Chicago, IL to Martin and Sophie (Zych) Janca and was educated at Chicago area schools. He enlisted into the United States Army on January 5, 1943 and honorably served his country during World War II. He was later discharged from military service on March 20, 1946.

In 1950 Frank moved to the family farm in rural Lublin and farmed with his parents for many years until retirement. He also did work as a carpenter.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a member of Lublin American Legion Abramowicz, Kacmarczyk, & Cwikla Post #547 for many years.

Frank is survived by his sister, Mildred (Stanley) Wegrzyn of Chicago, IL; three nieces: Melanie (thomas) Vail of Naperville, IL, Charmaine Willand of Mokena, IL, and Trudy (Jack) Borke of Platteville, WI; nine great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thorp funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
