St. John, Hazel Eunice (May 15, 1915 - August 20, 2006)
Hazel St. John, age 91, of Oak Forest, IL, formerly of Neillsville, died on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at St. Frances Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois.
Hazel Eunice St. John was born on May 15, 1915 in Minot, N. D. the daughter of William Ernest and Madeline (Schiltz) Poler. She attended elementary school in Granton Township and furthered her education in West Bend, WI. She later moved to Oak Park, IL for her employment. Hazel was united in marriage to Oliver Williams on November 19, 1935 in Neillsville, Wis. After marriage she stayed home to raise their family. Oliver passed away in 1980. She remarried to Victor St. John. Victor passed away in October of 2005. During Hazel’s life, church, family and friends were very important aspects of her life. In June 2005, she moved in with her daughter, Sharen, in Oak Forest, IL, and had a full and enjoyable life, with her church, her family, her friends and her many activities of her social life.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Nathan) Vandeberg, of Merrillan; Rodger Williams, of Granton; Wendell (Jeanine) Williams, of Granton; Sharen (Bill) Brock, of Oak Forest, IL; and Marvin (Sue) Williams, of Turtle Lake, WI; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Wanda) Poler, of Neillsville, Wis.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Helen, Ethel, Lois, Ardis; one brother, Charles; her husbands, Oliver Williams, and Victor St. John in 2005.
Funeral services for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2006 at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor James Mohr will officiate. Providing music will be Deon Spangler, organist and Tanya Featherstone, soloist. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 24, at the Gesche Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday at the Church. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ron Mashin, Randy Mashin, Rich Draves, Tony Williams, Brian Williams, and Jeramy Williams.
