Brandt, Viola A. (30 AUG 1930)

A pretty but quiet home wedding was solemnized Saturday, Aug. 30, when Miss Viola S. Brandt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Brandt of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Gilbert A. Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Meyer of Greenwood (Clark Co.).

The ceremony took place at the bride’s home at 2:45 in the afternoon, the Rev. O. Hoffman of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colby, officiating, the wedding march being played by the groom’s mother.

The bride was beautifully gowned in a dress of white satin and lace, made in silhouette style, with uneven hemline in back and wore white hose and pumps to match. Her veil was that of her sister’s, arranged with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white roses, with streamers of bridal wreath.

Mrs. Elmer C. Meyer, sister of the bride, assisted as bridesmaid. She wore a flesh pink gown of silk georgette and Spanish lace, also with uneven hemline, and wore hose and pumps to match. She also carried an arm bouquet of pin and white roses.

The groom was dressed in the conventional black and was attended by his brother, Elmer C. Meyer of Chicago.

At seven o’clock a bountiful wedding dinner was served to only immediate relatives of the contracting couple. The dining room being beautifully decorated with cut flowers and ferns.

On Sunday the happy couple left for a brief honeymoon through southern Wisconsin and Chicago. They expect to be at home after September 9th.

Their many friends join in wishing them much success and happiness in their new life.
