Miss Janet Demand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Demand of Abbotsford and Raymond Draheim, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Draheim of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage at Withee Saturday, April 9th at 3:00 p.m., E.E. Neilsen, justice, officiating, the ceremony taking place in the latter’s residence.
Miss Anita Draheim, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid, and Carl Vater (both of Withee), acted as best man.
The bride was attired in a frock of light blue flat crepe with blonde slippers and hose and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and daisies. The bridesmaid wore a two tone frock of black and white flat crepe.
After the ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the home of the groom’s parents, at which only immediate relatives were present. Covers were laid for nineteen.
Later in the evening additional guests, including neighbors and relatives, were entertained at cards. A midnight supper was served to forty-five guests.
The relatives from out of town who attended the reception were: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kurth and son, Arthur, and daughter Lorena, of Howard’s Grove; Mr. and Mrs. F. Draheim and daughter, Esther, and son, Wilmer, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Liebzeit and daughter, Esther, of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Demand and son, Lloyd and Miss Fern Tolliver of Abbotsford, Wis.
A wedding dance, sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Jake Meyer of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi of Withee, was given in honor of the couple Tuesday evening, April 12th, at the Black River Tourist Park, at which a large crowd was present.
