GRANTON -- Anna Marie Zahradka, age 101, of Granton, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at the Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.
The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Anna's family with the arrangements.
Anna was born on Oct. 19, 1904, to Charles T. and Frances (Schultz) Bladl in the town of Lynn in Clark County. Anna married Michael G. Zahradka on June 20, 1928, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. After marriage they lived in Granton and built their home in 1933 where Anna lived until age 95. Her husband passed away on Jan. 30, 1957, at the age of 57. She worked many years as a telephone operator in Granton and she also wrapped cheese for Cooper Cheese and Figi's in Marshfield. In 1985 she was chosen as Granton's Grandparent of the Year. Her 100th birthday was celebrated with a family reunion.
Anna is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Donald) Giasson, Denison, Texas, Betty Eibergen, Granton, Carolyn (Edward) Flanegan, Hampton, Minn., Michael W. (Vicki) Zahradka, Corning, N.Y., Rosa Lee (James) Wunsch, Sheboygan Falls; 33 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and another expected in December.
