Martin, Ruth V. (27 NOV 1914 - 18 OCT 1988)
Mrs. Thomas D. Martin, 2523 Sunnyview Circle, Appleton, age 73, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1988, at Parkside Health Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 27, 1914, the daughter of the late Andrew & Anna (Funk) Davidson in Withee, Clark Co., Wisconsin. Ruth was a charter member of the Appleton Gallery of Arts and the Valley Rock and Mineral Club.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas; two daughters and two sons-in-law; Patricia and Marvin A. Hartjes, Combined Locks; Maxine and Carl Schulze, Appleton; two stepdaughters and two stepsons-in-law; Sylvia and George Lafferty, Torence, California; Marion and Richard Wolske, Forest Junction, Wisconsin; a stepdaughter-in-law, Betty Kramer, Kaukauna; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Donna Elliot, Denver, Colorado; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Thomas J. and Ethel Martin, Combined Locks; a sister, Phyllis Davidson, Appleton; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Ken Martin; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 1988, at 7 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. The family will receive friends after the service.
It was Ruth’s wish to be cremated and her ashes to be buried at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
