Konecny, Frank (29 MAY 1910 - 9 AUG 1932)
Frank Konecny, 22, was shot dead Tuesday morning at Cadott when a loaded automatic pistol he carried in his automobile accidentally discharged.
Konecny, son of J.F. Konecny, Sr., of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), spent Tuesday night at the home of his aunt, Mrs. William Wagner, about three miles east of Cadott.
Mrs. Wagner desired the address of a relatives, she said,a nd Frank said he had the address in a notebook in his car, a coupe, which was parked outside. Frank went to the car to get the notebook, Mrs. Wagner said, and as he knelt on the seat cushion and reached for the notebook on the ledge of the back of the seat, the gun discharged.
The bullet struck Mr. Konecny under the ear and came out the top of his head, killing him instantly.
Investigation showed that Konecny, who traveled considerably by car, because of the nature of his work, carried an automatic pistol stuffed down between the seat cushion and the sidewall of the car. It is believed that the pistol worked around so that the barrel pointed upward and that pressure of the young man’s knew on the seat released the trigger. No inquest will be held.
Mr. Konecny has been a representative of Kidd & Co. Insurance Agency of Owen for some time. He was a graduate of the State Teachers College at Stevens Point and taught school last year near Withee.
