Gilbertson, Christian (1856 - 28 AUG 1932)
Christian Gilbertson, 73, town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), committed suicide Sunday afternoon by hanging himself. The body was found about 6 p.m. by his son, Halvor, when he came home to do the chores.
No reason could be given by relatives for the man’s act except that he had been in poor health for some time. A physician was called and found that the man had been dead several hours.
The man’s wife and his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gunwald Gilbertson, were visiting relatives in the southern part of the state at the time.
Mr. Gilbert son leaves six sons, Halvor and Gunwald, at home; Melvin, town of Hoard; Ingman, Withee; Adolph, Bloomer; and Ole, Cornell; and two daughters, Mrs. Martha Smith, Raymond, S.D., and Mrs. Kella Ackerman, town of Hoard.
The Rev. W. L. Anderson of the Curtiss Lutheran Church conducted funeral services.
