Reinhart, Alex (28 JUN 1909 - 5 SEP 1932)
Alex Reinhart, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Reinhart who reside on a farm south of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was killed in Minnesota Monday afternoon.
Alex had been working in the harvest fields in Dakota and was returning home. He was walking along the railroad tracks when a freight train approached. Thinking he could get a ride he tried to catch onto a box car, but as the train was traveling about 40 miles an hour he lost his hold and was thrown under the cars.
The accident was witnessed by many others who were hitch-hiking back and were on top of the car but the train could not be brought to a halt until it reached the next station. The train men were then informed of the accident and they went back to get the body.
The remains arrived yesterday and funeral services will be held from St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Greenwood Friday morning at 10:00 o’clock. The body will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his father and mother, eight brothers and five sisters.
