Watson, Frank C. (28 Jun 1868 - Feb 1933)

Word was received here last week, telling of the death of former postmaster, Frank C. Watson, whose death occurred at his home in Los Angeles, Calif. For the past six years Mr. Watson has made his home in California, going there from Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), after he had completed a two-term appointment as postmaster of this city, under the President Woodrow Wilson Administration.

Mr. Watson came to Owen 26 years ago, and established himself in the meat business, under the name of Dearth & Watson, operating the City Meat Market for a term of about three years. After disposing of this business he moved to his farm north of the city, where he remained until his appointment as postmaster.

For the past six years or more Mr. and Mrs. Watson have made their home in Los Angeles, Calif. There many friends here will regret to learn of his passing at this time.

*Frank Watson was born June 28, 1868 in Millgrove, Ohio, the son of James and Mary Jane (Slater) Watson.  As a young man, Frank worked in as a postmaster in a mercantile store in Millgrove.  In 1900, he worked at a brick kiln in Dixon, Illinois.  His wife, Amanda Ellen Dearth  was born 5 Dec 1869 and was murdered 30 Jan 1935 in Los Angeles, California.  Both are buried in California.
