Marcott, Art and LaVerna (Golden - July 7, 2006)
Art and LaVerna Marcott of Curtiss celebrated their golden wedding anniversary July 8, 2006, at a reception and dinner held at the Curtiss Community Hall. The celebration was attended by family and friends.
Carol Marcott, Susan Marcott and Don Marcott, original wedding attendents, were on hand for the festivities.
The couple married July 7, 1956, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss, with the Rev. Martin H. Krause officiating.
Art was born April 7, 1935, in Curtiss, Wis. He is a 1953 graduate of Abbotsford, Wis. High School, and served with the Army Security Agency in Korea from 1953 to 1956. He retired as a semi truck driver for Schneider Transport.
The former LaVerna Thieme was born May 13, 1937, in Curtiss, and attended Owen High School. She owned and operated Laverna's Fabrics and Quilt Shop, and is now retired.
They are members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss, Wis.
They have two daughters, Linda Fleming of Neenah and Rita Navarre of Colby; three sons, Bruce of Montana, Brian of Eau Claire and Bryce of Fountain City; 16 grandchildren and two great-granchildren.
