Sontag, Allen S. (July 1902 - 16 Feb. 1939)
Christian Science Services were held at the Lowe Funeral Home Monday morning for Allen S. Sontag, who passed way at the home of his parents, Julius and Sadie Balch Sontag on 1570 East Shore Drive, St. Paul, Minn., Thursday, February 16, after an illness of about 12 years. Interment took place in the Neillsville Cemetery, this city being the former home of his parents. Deceased was a nephew of F. O. Balch and George L. Sontag and a cousin of Mrs. Harry Roehrborn, all of Neillsville, Wis.
Deceased was born in July, 1902, at Altoona, the family later moved to St. Paul where the young man was graduated from Johnson High School. He then took a position as city salesman for a large millinery firm and a few months later was promoted to road salesman for the same firm with whom he remained until he was stricken by illness in 1927.
Mr. Sontag was a young man of exceptional ability. His splendid character and pleasing personality winning for him a host of friends and marked success in his work, these fine traits being evident all through his illness, for his faith and courage never failed.
Here for the rites were his parents, and brother, Wallace, St. Paul; William Sontag and daughter, Minneapolis; Mrs. Allen Sayles, Bozeman, Mont.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Balch and son of Madison.
