Robert Steffes

Robert Steffes, 77, Curtiss, died Monday Sept. 18, 2006 at his residence under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the church. Maurina/Community Funeral Home will assist the family with arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday Sept. 21, 2006 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Abbotsford, Wis. Burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery with full military rites. Father Paul Gitter will preside. Pallbearers will be Arnie Jagodzinski, Jim Laru, Bob DeCaire, Rod DeCaire, Duane Thieme and Larry Dumler.

He was born Dec. 5, 1928 in Milwaukee to Nic and Irene (Leonhard) Steffes. He married Merle Jewett and they later divorced. Mr. Steffes served his country during the Korean Conflict. He farmed most of his life in the Town of Green Grove. He retired in 1991 and continued to reside on the farm. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, roger (Rose) Steffes, Cudahy, Richard (Sue) Steffes, Colby, Carol (Robert) DeCaire, Owen, and Sharon (James) Laru, Owen, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
