Presher, William F. (9 SEP 1846 - 11 JUL 1927)
William Franklin Presher, son of John and Millicent Presher, was born at Nichel’s Corners, Tioga County, N.Y., Sept. 9, 1846, where he lived with his parents until seven years of age. They then moved to Green County, Wis., where he grew to manhood. In the year 1872, he was married to Vest C. Bray, and to this union two daughters were born. In 1889 the family came to Clark County, living a year at Neillsville, and then moving to this vicinity, where he made his home for forty-five years.
His wife died Aug. 26, 1895, and on March 1, 1896, he married Abigail Urana Curtiss, who died last January. To this second marriage one child son was born. Mr. Presher was of a large family, only one brother, Delos of Oakland, Calif., surviving. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry Jonson of Neillsville, and Mrs. George Durham of Humbird, also his son, Sidney of Humbird, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Since last January, Mr. Presher has been cared for at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Johnson, in Neillsville, where he died July 11, 1927, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 2 days.
Undertaker Kretschmer brought the remains to this village Tuesday, and funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Litchfield officiating. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.
