Demouth, Sam (1873? - 19 March 1939)
Word has been received by Mrs. George Iffland of Merrillan of the death of her uncle, Sam Demouth, about 66, former Christie resident, at his home in Portland, Ore., March 19. Death followed a heart attack. Mr. Demouth was born on a farm about a mile west of the Christie store and remained in the neighborhood until he moved to Portland about 20 years ago. He spent nine years in the United States regular army, and served two years in the Philippine Islands. Besides Mrs. Iffland, a sister, Mrs. C. H. Nutting of Butternut, survives.
