Fire caused from an over heated chimney, nearly destroyed the Hugo Quast General Store at Willard Monday morning.
The place was discovered to be on fire at about ten o'clock and a number of customers to the store at once aided Mr. Quast in putting it out. Had the blaze been discovered about five minutes later, the entire place would have been destroyed.
The back part of the store was considerably damaged as were some of the goods. The loss is estimated at several hundred dollars.
