Eschenberg, Caroline (13 April 1848 - 5 April 1939)

Carline Sander Eschenberg was born in Germany, April 13, 1848, and departed this life at the home of her son, William, in Worcester, Ohio, Wednesday night; April 5, 1939. Her age was 90 years, 11 months and 22 days.

She was married to Ludwig Eschenberg, who preceded her in death in 1915. The family came to America 59 years ago, and settled in Illinois, later moving to Wisconsin where she lived for about 30 years. The last 16 years of her life was spent in Ohio.

She is survived by one son, William, of Wocester, Ohio; by four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Emma) Schroeder of Neillsville; Mrs. Herman (Eva) Bierbrodt of Oglesby, Ill., Mrs. Ole (Rose) Peterson of Superior, Wis.; Mrs. Arthur (Lena) Rottenburg of Chicago, Ill.; and by 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock form the Schiller Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. M. Bixler officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

The children of Mrs. Eschenberg, Mrs. Rottenburg and William, accompanied the body to Neillsville, Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Bierbrodt and Mrs. Schroeder also being present for the rites, At the Press office Tuesday they expressed their appreciation and pleasure over the cordial manner in which Neillsville residents greeted them.
