Tetzner, Joan (August 23, 1924 - October 6, 2004)
Joan Tetzner, age 80, of Thorp, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at her home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Donald Wilger officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home, on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Joan Strom was born on August 23, 1924 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Sylvanus and Bernadette (Salves) Strom. She was raised and educated in St. Paul, graduating from Central High School in 1942. After completing her education, Joan worked for Northwest Airlines
On August 31, 1946, Joan was united in marriage to Arthur J. Tetzner in St. Paul, MN. They moved to Thorp in 1954, where her husband taught school and Joan raised their seven children. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Joan had many interests, but especially loved traveling, which she did extensively, nature and being out-doors, gardening, painting, knitting and reading. She loved people and was kind to a fault, always having time to listen and help.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Arthur "Jack" of Thorp; seven children: Julia M. Persico of River Falls, WI; Jeanne M. (Pat) Resch of Watkins, CO; Ronald G. (Nicole) Tetzner of Denver, CO; Catherine A. (Phillip) Drazkowski of Ellsworth, WI; Larry Tetzner of Chicago, IL; John (Tracy) Tetzner of Tulsa, OK; Robert (Jan) Tetzner of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister: Rita Voigt of St. Paul, MN; one brother: William (Barbara) Strom of Seattle, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Betty Neinas.
