Licht, Mary M. (February 6, 1923 - September 27, 2004)

Mary M. Licht, age 81, lifelong resident of the Boyd area passed away on September 27, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls, WI.

Mary was born on February 6, 1923 in the Town of Delmar, Chippewa County, the daughter of Edward and Anna (Grewe) Wettstein. She grew up in the Boyd area and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Boyd, WI. She was then united in marriage to Valentine Licht on July 10, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Boyd, WI. They lived and farmed in the Town of Delmar all their working lives. Upon retirement, she resided in the Park Ridge Village apartments, Boyd, WI. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Elizabeth’s society and worked for Chippewa County Social Services for over 25 years delivering Meals on Wheels and being a volunteer driver for delivering mail and taking the elderly to doctors’ appointments. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing cards with family and friends.

Mary is survived by three sons: Duane Licht of Cadott, WI; Roy (Paula) Licht of Chippewa Falls, WI and Val Licht of Stetsonville, WI and three daughters: Shirley, Mrs. Steve Custard of Cloverdale, MN; Mary, Mrs. Mike Weyrauch of Winter Haven, FL and Kay Licht of Chippewa Falls, WI; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister Hilda Stuttgen of Colby, WI and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Valentine Licht in 1994, four brothers, four sisters and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Boyd, WI with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI with a 7:30 Rosary being recited. Plombon Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
