Gordon Armbrust

COLBY -- Gordon William Armbrust, 92, Colby, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Green Grove. Burial with full military rites by Colby VFW Post 2227 will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Gordon was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Truman, Minn., to William and Lydia (Mildbrandt) Armbrust. Gordon served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Gordon and Ruth Backlund were married Sept. 14, 1965, and later divorced. He farmed in Minnesota and later in Colby.

Gordon is survived by his children John, Barb, Cheryl, Les, Lonnie and Lori; nine grandchildren; one sister Fern; and four brothers, Albert, Ray, Billy and Harvey.
