Zerbel, Dorathea W. (9 FEB 1851 - 17 OCT 1927)

Dorathea Wilhelmine Zerbel, nee Schultz, was born Feb. 9, 1851, at Watertown, Wis., and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Accola, in the town of Sumpter, Sauk Co., Wis., Oct. 17, 1927, having attained the ripe age of 76 years, 8 months and 8 days.

A long life is a blessing from the Lord. It brings with it opportunities for Christian helpfulness, kindness and service, as well as time for suffering and burden bearing. Of all these Mr. Zerbel had her full share. In her youth she became a Christian and united with the Evangelical Church, of which she was a member till death.

In the year 1877, she was united in holy wedlock to Herman Carl Zerbel, who preceded her in death last February. Their union was a happy one. Seven children were born to them. Two children and the husband preceded her into the Great Beyond. She leaves to mourn three sons, two daughters, one brother, one sister, twelve grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

May the memory of her life prove a blessing in the days to come, and many the great God who is merciful and kind, comfort and sustain the bereaved and grant them a happy reunion to the heavenly kingdom.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20, at the home and the Denzer Church, Rev. W. Bartel, pastor of the Prairie du Sac circuit, officiating, assisted by Rev. H.A. Bernhardt of Westfield. Interment was made in the Denzer Cemetery.
