Pierce, Daniel E. (23 MAR 1865 - 19 DEC 1927)
Daniel E. Pierce was born in Almont, Michigan, March 23, 1865 and died at his home in Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), Monday afternoon, Dec. 19, 1927, after a long illness with paralysis, aged 62 years, 8 months and 26 days.
He moved with his parents to Beef River, this state, where he grew to young manhood. In 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna M. Gleason of Humbird, where they have since made their home, excepting for a period of three years that they lived in Fairchild.
To this union, nine children were born, two of whom preceded him to the Great Beyond.
Deceased is survived by his wife and seven children, Earl, Guy, Mrs. Elgie Hardwick, Agnes, Iva, and Beatrice, residing at home and in this vicinity, and Margaret of St. Helens, Oregon. He also leaves to mourn his death, four brothers, George of this village, Austin of La Crosse, Fred of St. Helens, Oregon, and Ben of Cape Horn, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert Markham and Mrs. Robert Link, both of St. Helens, Oregon.
The funeral services were held at the Free Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon, and were attended by many sympathizing friends of those whom mourn the loss of a husband and father. Rev. A.E. Knaak preached the burial sermon, and intermnet was in the Mentor Cemetery.
