Bailey, George M. (25 JUN 1874 - 2 JAN 1929)
Word was received in the village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.) last week of the death of Geo. Bailey, a resident for several years on the farm in the Wilbur District. Mr. Bailey died at his home in Rockford, Ill., Jan. 2, following a valiant fight for life, death being doe to flu pneumonia, from which he suffered for eleven days.
George M. Bailey was born at Dodgeville June 25, 1874, and died Jan. 2, 1929, in Rockford, at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 8 days. The funeral was held in that city last Saturday, Rev. Melvin C. Smith officiating, and burial was in Arlington Memorial Park in that city. Of his relatives away from Rockford attending the burial were Miss Susan Mitchell, Madison; Mrs. Anna Bailey, John Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Winter, of Dodgeville.
Owing to the long illness of his wife, Mr. Bailey left the farm here about four years ago and moved to Rockford, where he found employment. Mrs. Bailey had sufficiently recovered to resume her home duties about sixteen months ago, but the home circle is again broken, this time by death.
Deceased is survived by his wife and three sons, Elmo, David and Frank.
