Gorst, Gertrude (20 APR 1929)
The wedding of Gertrude Gorst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gorst, and Herman Mayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Mayer, was solemnized at St. Joseph’s Church, Fairview, April 20, 1929, at 10 o’clock a.m., Rev. Thomas performing the ceremony. The bride and groom were attended by Miss Irena Gorst, sister of the bride, and Joseph Mayer, brother of the groom. The bride was attired in white satin and lace, carrying a beautiful bouquet of roses. The bridesmaid was attired in a cream white gown and likewise carried a bouquet of sweet peas. The groom and best man both wore white carnations on the lapel of their dark blues suits.
After the ceremony the bridal party went to the home of the bride’s parents, near Fairchild, which was beautifully decorated in pink and white, where a sumptuous three-course dinner was served. The remainder of the day was spent in merry making. Both parties are popular and well known young people of their community, which was very well evidenced by the large number of beautiful and useful gifts. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Mayer join in wishing them happiness and prosperity in their wedded life.
