Kowalski, Joseph G. (March 13, 1918 - May 14, 2005)

Joseph G. Kowalski, age 87, died May 14, 2005, at Bellin Health Systems in Green Bay, WI.

He was born March 13, 1918 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Alexander and Frances (Dombkowski) Kowalski. He married the former Signe Ohlin in 1942 in St. Louis, MO and she preceded him in death on March 2, 1989. he and his wife owned and operated a grocery business in Chicago for many years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army Air Corps in the (CBI), China, Burma, and India theatres and attained the rank of S. Sgt. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post No. 201 of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Signe, and brothers and one sister.

Joseph is survived by two sisters: Wanda Hendricks and Lorraine Alger, of Thorp, WI and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls, and was also held Wednesday, May 18 from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

The funeral Mass will be (was) held Wednesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls, with Rev. Fr. Dino Silvestrini officiating.
