(October 18, 1888) The Democratic rally at Dorchester, last Friday evening, was a red letter day for the democracy of our sister village, it being one the largest and most enthusiastic gatherings ever held in that village. The hall in the evening was packed to overflowing.

Hon. Theo. Kersten led the speaking and made a stirring and eloquent address doing even better than when at this place.

He was followed by Hon. R. J. MacBride, who made several happy hits in the short time allotted him.

He was followed by Hon. Burr W. Jones who delivered one of the most eloquent speeches ever made on the line. Mr. Jones is a fluent talker and thoroughly understands what he talks about and what is more to the point his audience thoroughly understands him.

All three of the speakers were frequently interrupted by storms of applause.

A goodly sprinkling of Republicans were among the audience and seemed to enjoy the speaking even if they could not agree with the doctrines preached.

Delegations from Black Creek Falls, Bruckerville, Colby and Curtiss were in attendance and all went home satisfied with themselves for having attended.

(October 18, 1888) Adam Kuentz was badly disappointed the other day, when R. B. Salter marched Mr. Judd, the Milwaukee Journal representative into the store and told Adam there was a Harrrison man to take up that be at one hundred dollars. Adams said he was ready and commenced to fish out his money when Mr. Judd interrupted him with the remark, "we both want to be the same way." Adam says; "I didn’t believe anybody will take me up on that bet."
