Stanley Voelker

Stanley Voelker, 70, Athens, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in the emergency room of St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Funeral services were held Oct 31 at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix presided. Pallbearers were Robert Voelker, Todd Smazal, Phil Carlson, Clarence Molthen, Ben Mootz and Ray Zoellick.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.

Stanley was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Colby to Oscar and Harriet (Fisher) Voelker. He and Lois Jean (Morrison) were married Jul 28, 1956, in Colby. She preceded him in death March 16, 2001.

Stanley and Lois farmed together in the Town of Johnson, Marathon County. Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Stanley is survived by his 10 children, Ronald (Claudette) Voelker, Stetsonville, David Voelker, Abbotsford, Steven (Debbie) Voelker, Abbotsford, Steven (Debbie) Voelker, Abbotsford, Jamie Voelker, Abbotsford, Tammy (Mike) Sheets, Dorchester, Lori (Donald) Drinka, Colby, Nancy Voelker, Ann Patz, Abbotsford and Amy Voelker, Wausau; two sisters, Bonnie Ramker, Abbotsford and Virginia Stecker, Park Falls; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; two children, Sarah and Kevin; and one brother, William Voelker.
