Celebrated 74 Birthday

A very pleasant birthday surprise was given Mrs. Martin Matheson last Wednesday afternoon in honor of her 74th birthday, at her home one mile east and one mile south of town (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.). All of her great-grandchildren and grandchildren, and all of her own children, with the exception of one, were present for the occasion.

A bounteous supper was served in honor of the event which was enjoyed by all present, visiting and reminiscences being the topic of conversation during the feast. Mrs. Matheson was the recipient of many very pretty presents which were greatly appreciated by her, and the pleasure and love that lighted up her face, was a sufficient evidence of thanks for the donors.

Mrs. Matheson is one of the very oldest residents of this town, having passed thirty-five years of her life here, and the many wishes for many more birthdays given by the relatives is heartily seconded by her friends and the Gleaner.
