Apfelbeck, William (7 MAY 1879 - 10 NOV 1909)
On last Wednesday afternoon Wm. Apfelbeck, a brakeman on the Soo Line between Chelsea and Rib Lake, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Apfelbeck of the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.), was caught between the cars in some manner while nearing Chelsea, and crushed to such an extent that he died shortly afterward from his injuries at the Marshfield Hospital where was taken on train 12. His mother was notified and accompanied him to the hospital, only to see her boy pass away.
The remains were taken to Colby by train and from there taken to his home. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church at Colby Saturday morning, Rev. J.M. Schramm officiating.
