Watson, Charles E. (28 Nov. 1866 - 1930)
Sorrow came to his many friends last Friday when word was received that Chas. E Watson, prominent farmer of the town of Cleveland had ended his life. The body was found in the horse barn that morning with a bullet wound in the head, a new 22 rifle being the weapon used. It is reported that he had walked to Fairchild the previous afternoon, obtained the gun, and returned in the night. It is not known when the deed was committed as reports say he did not enter the house upon his return. No real cause is known.
Charles E Watson was born in Tama county, Iowa, Nov 28,1866. He came to vicinity when about twenty years of age, and Dec 20, 1897 was married to Laura Nelson, to this union were born seven children, one of whom preceded him in death. His wife, three daughters, and three sons survive.
The burial was made in the Jackson cemetery last Monday afternoon. Undertaker M. Kretschmer having charge. Rev. Brown of Augusta officiated.
