Gaylord, David Alfred (30 Sept. 1852 - 24 Dec. 1930)
David Alfred Gaylord was born Sept. 30,1852 in Lafayette county, near Mineral Point, and died at the home of his brother, one and a half miles east of Rockland, Dec. 24, 1930.
He leaves to mourn his death, two sons, Charles of Rockland (and) Percy, of Chinock, Mont., and one daughter, Mrs. Thos. Shirley, of Arnegard, N.D. Five brothers, J. L. and I. A. of Rockland; Eugene of Sparta; Geo. and Alonzo, of Gronlid, Sask.; and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Creviston, of Humbird; Mrs. Frank Morise of Salem, Ore.; and Mrs. Elmer Balch of Gronlid, Sask; and fourteen grandchildren at Arnegard and Williston, N.D. survive him. One daughter, Mrs. Hunter, of Williston, passed away last January.
He was laid to rest in Rockland cemetery Dec 27th by the side of his wife and one daughter. He was quite well known by the older folks of this vicinity, having lived on a homestead five miles east of Merrillan for several years. Mrs. Frank Creviston was the only one of the family being able to attend the funeral from away.
