Louise Smith
LOYAL -- Louise Iva Smith, 96, of Loyal, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at the Colonial Center in Colby.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the United Methodist Church in Loyal. Burial will follow in the Loyal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
She was born Dec. 18, 1909, in New Lisbon to Verne and Iva (Clawson) Millard. She married J. Vernon Smith on Sept. 3, 1928, in Loyal. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1978. After her children were grown, she and her husband started working in nursing care facilities including Bethel Convalescent Home, Arpin, Norwood Health Center, Marshfield, and Sunburst Children's Home, Neillsville, Wis. They moved back to Loyal in 1978.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Edward) Brown, Colby; two sons, Vernon "Bud" (Joan) Smith, Loyal, and Arnold Smith, Claycomo, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ardis Paulson, Loyal.
