Buss, Bernard (April 16, 1924 - March 17, 2005)
Bernard Buss, age 80, of Thorp, died Thursday March 17, 1005 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Reverend Tom Myhre officiated. Visitation was Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family.
Bernard was born on April 16, 1924 in the Town of Reseburg, Clark County, to Albert and Ida "Edith" (Gorsegner) Buss. Bernard and Linda Huberty were married June 30, 1945. They farmed in the Town of Reseburg until 1976. He also worked for Master Packaging in Owen while he was farming. When he retired from farming they moved to the City of Owen, Wis. They moved back to Thorp in 2003. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a caretaker there.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Linda of Thorp; his children: Bill (Judy) Buss of Thorp; Jim (Karen) Buss of Cottage Grove, MN; Marvin Buss of Roberts, WI; Sandy Buss of Roberts, WI; a daughter-in-law, Mary Buss of Oconomowoc, WI; a sister, Ruby Buss of Thorp; his grandchildren: Chris (Caryn) Buss, Shannon Buss, Sheila Buss, Laurie (Tom) Ratajczyk, Kirby Buss, Dan (Jamie) Buss, Mike (Traci) Buss, and Andy Buss; his great-grandchildren: Dylan Buss and Alyssa Buss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Don Buss, an infant daughter; two brothers: Harold Buss and Elmer Buss; two sisters: Vera Roix and Mildred Deleske.
