Jacob Kneubuechl, of Davis, Ill., drove up with a truck last week, after a load of spuds.

The following former neighbors and old friends attended the funeral of Fred Eckeman at Neillsville last Friday afternoon: Mr. and Mrs. John Greub Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Weidman, Mrs. Kneubuehl, Fred Greub, Fred Theiler, and John Bryner. Deceased was nearly 80 years of age.

The Len Cole cottage was sided with shingles and porches added this week. It is a fine improvement to the property.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Nibbe, Oct 21.

Mrs. Howard Hemmy and Betty spent the weekend with her people at Melrose.

I. C. Sobezak and family were at the Falls last Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Krebschmer was a visitor last week with Neillsville friends.

Mrs. R. A. Hart took an auto load of ladies to Granton on Thursday of last week to attend the county meeting of the Home Economics clubs.

W. E. Waters was an Augusta visitor last Friday.

Paving work on highway 10 finished at the Weigert farm last of the week, Grading is going on toward the east, and will continue until the ground freezes. Shouldering will not be done until next spring.

Lloyd Staffon and family of Madison were recent visitors with Mrs. Staffon’s parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John Greub and other relatives.

John Harris and son, Henry, were down from Altoona Wednesday to gather some more of their garden truck.

Alfred Nibbe was brought home from the hospital the last week and is convalescing from the appendicitis operation.
