The boys of the school, inder the direction of Prin. LeCaptain, have been doing a commendable job in sodding the grounds in front of the school house. The sod was cut from the new highway right of way through John Michael’s field and other places were available. If given proper care during the summer months it will make a fine lawn.

Gerald Hart was a guest of the Federal bakery at Winona, Tuesday afternoon and night, where he saw the line of goods handled by their store, in the making. It was a visit full of interest.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rorabeck were at Menomonie Saturday evening, where Mr. R. attended a session of yard managers. Sunday they spent with relatives at Downing.

The Humbird Gas House nine defeated the Merillan city team 7 to 3 at Merrillan last Sunday. This Sunday they play the Fish Pond sluggers on Homan’s diamond. The Legion team also scored a win for the ol’ home town over Ed Noyes profs from the Eau Claire teachers college on a 10 to 3 reckoning. This Sunday the Legion team will entertain Hixton white sox on the new home diamond.
