I. C. Sobezak (Sobcyak) drove to Neillsville Monday, taking Mrs. Andrus, Mrs. Pierce, S. S. Andrus, and John Michael to the court house on probate matters. The will of T. J. Andrus will be read at a special session on Jan 26th. Mr. Michael is named executor.

Max Schenk and wife, of Milwaukee, are spending a few weeks with his mother and sister. Max was employed in the office of the A. O. Smith Cor. (Corporation?)

While Miss Zella Brandstedler was home for the holidays, the bank where she had her funds, Chicago Heights failed,. School funds were in the bank, which was a merger of four and supposed to be sound. The school was paying its teachers part cash and part script. Now it will be all script or close the school.

It is the last issue of the Augusta Commonwealth. Editor C. W. Warner announced "With this issue the ownership and management of the Co-operative Commonwealth passes to Mr. Alvin M. Amundson, editor and publisher of the Alma Center News, who comes highly recommended as to character and ability and who will continue the paper as a supporter of the Farmers Union." The paper is the official organ of the Union in the state, and Mr. Warner has been very aggressive in supporting the movement.
